Re: The 1,483rd person with connectivity problems on an Intel ac-7260 wifi card

"I am fed up. Intel knows their products were faulty." Totally agree.

After the previous fixing everything was fine, but during this week problems of limited connection have started again, even if after another workaround seems working again.
Ofc with bluetooth OFF..so what's the point of this dual adapter ?

And this is not the only useless adapter they've released, because this forum is full of threads regarding wifi problems, published even 1-2+ YEAR AGO and still pending, even with newest drivers who are useless like previous ones.

My suggestion for Intel: quit the adapters market (do as a favour), or refund-replace for free these utterly pieces of garbage.
Unfortunately or luckily I still have a warranty for this laptoop but I'd not want to send it to assistance to replace this adapter with another Intel one.

Sorry, but customers are fed up, as already written by tons of people.

I was searching for more information on this card for my g75vw. I was a bit disturbed to see there were no replies to your question. I too have a computer science background. There is something a little odd about how bluetooth works with many f these cards, they actually run through the USB system. You could try going to the device manager and deleting the USB hardware and let it be rediscovered. Let me know if this works for you as the main thing I want out of this card is a more reliable bluetooth connection over the Atheros that came with the box.

Re: intel nic drivers 19.3 huge 6000+ dpc latency spike once a few secs

I have Asus RT-N66U router with latest firmware installed but I can verify if spikes happen with different router that I have at work.

Audio player has nothing to do with it because it happens with all audio sources (winamp, windows media player, mpc-he). Also I don't think that any radio interference have something to do with dpc latency spikes. Interference can lower wifi throughput or make network latency higher but not dpc latency. And I know what TX an RX means I generated high RX and TX to show you screenshots with latency spikes during specific transfer over wifi. And simple googling shows that I'm not the only one who has problems with dpc latency on different Intel wireless and wired network cards. Some people had luck with different version of Intel drivers so I guess that's main reason dpc talency spikes happen in first place. But there is not lot of choices for 7265 AC and Windows 10 right now. I have Bluetooth mouse so I will try to disable bluetooth controller and check it that helps. But bluetooth is also using Intel drivers so if that's the case we are going back to the roots of this problem: intel drivers.

Re: Updating Intel Pro Wireless from 17.16.1 to 18.11.0, 18.12.0, or 18.12.1 causes BSOD AC-7265 Windows 7 x64

The wireless card was installed by the manufacture (Lenovo).

I finally got the Series 18 Driver to load !

Lenovo had the newest driver 18.20.0 on their Website.  I tried installing it and got the same BSOD, with the same parameters.

To get it to load, this is what I did.

step 1: Uninstall The Intel Proset/Wireless Software.  In Windows 7 Control Panel, Programs and Features uninstall The Intel Proset/Wireless Software.  I selected the option to Save Current Settings.  Reboot computer.

step 2: Uninstall Ac-7265 Device and Drivers.  In Windows 7 Device Manager go to Network adapters, select Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265.  Click to uninstall device and check the box to "Delete the driver software for this device".  Reboot the computer and make sure the network device is listed as an unknown device in the Device Manager.  If it is not listed as an Unknown Device, keep uninstalling until it is.

step 3: Install new Intel Proset/Wireless Software and Driver (18.20.00).

Step 2 was the one that allowed the new driver to install.  Step1 was added as an extra precaution.  I image my hard drive so I can reload the operating system sector as many times as needed until I find a solution.

any solution to the Intel Wireless N 2230 ?

$

I have a lenovo Y400 And for the last two weeks have been experiencing trouble with the Wireless connectivity. It started 2 weeks back when my wifi connection would suddenly drop or i would be disconnected. The only solution was a restart and this would recur in 20 minutes. I called up lenovo and they advised me to refresh my PC and go back to Windows 8 from 8.1. It seemed resolved for a while and I then upgraded to 8.1. The problem recurred in a week and had to downgrade to win 8 again. I am currently on windows 8 and still have the same trouble ? Is there any solution to this ? The wireless card is the Intel N 2230.

Thanks for the help.

It's a long post and i apologize.

Hello ANIRUDHK,

We are sorry to hear you are having connectivity issues with the Intel® Centrino® Wireless-N 2230. Here are a few recommendations you can try for this matter:

1. Contact the Computer Manufacturer Support and make sure you are using their recommended drivers and configuration.

2. As a second option, you may also use the generic drivers from Intel:

Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software and Drivers for Windows 8*, version 17.14.0
Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software for Windows 8.1*, version 18.20.0

3. Go to Windows* Device Manager - Network Adapters, locate the 2230 and go to the "Advanced" properties, then make sure to apply the configuration from the document:

Wireless Networking — What are the Recommended Settings for 802.11n Connectivity?

I forgot to add another screenshot of the remaining two options. I will change those listed as suggested in the document. But what about those that are not listed ? Options 1,2 are not working.I'm still experiencing the same drops and slow speed.Screenshot (4).png

Re: 7260ac windows 10 bluetooth not working. It shows an unknown bluetooth device in control panel. Also i noticed the personal area network has a #2 on the end. I suspect that is the issue but after trying different 8.1 and at one point win10 drivers

There may be different reasons about this problem of bluetooth not working in windows 10.

It might be driver problem, or your hardware is not working fine. Please check for both errors, try getting a fresh setup of bluetooth driver for windows 10. i hope it will fix your issue.

If you are looking for more information about this issue, you check this article about this problem and its fixes. I hope it will help you lot. Windows 10 Bluetooth Not Working.

Hello,

If the issues persist with the most recent driver and recommended settings, please try these actions:

1. Go back to the Advanced settings and apply the following, as they may improve connectivity in the 2.4 GHz band:

- 802.11n channel Width for 2.4Ghz connections: 20 MHz ONLY

- Roaming Agressiveness: 1. Lowest

2. Check with the manufacturer of the access point and make sure you are using the most recent firmware available for it.

3. Set the Windows* power plan setting for the Wireless adapter to Maximum Performance, when plugged in and on battery.

4. Disable Bluetooth* (which also operates in 2.4 GHz). This is normally done with Switch in the PC, or with a keyboard combination; it may also be done in Windows* settings.

5. Check your wireless access point and make sure the security mode of the Wi-fi connection is set to WPA2, and that encryption is AES. Or, you may test if the connections improves with security disabled.

6. Try placing the computer closer to the AP, or in a different position.

Hi, Windows 10 does not resolve the problem unfortunately.

AC7625 no longer working as access point with Connectify on Windows 10. It used to work fine with Windows 8.1 but since upgrading Connectify say that AP has been removed by Intel. Help please. Thanks

My ASUS UX305F laptop with Windows 8.1 used to work fine with Connectify. I find it very useful in hotels around Europe.

However since upgrading to Windows 10 it no longer works and Connectify say that the Access Point facility has been disabled

by Intel. Could anyone help please. I've made sure I've got the latest driver installed but no joy!

Many thanks ........ flyinggiz.

Recently I use my laptop to create hotspot for my phone and other devices using Connectify. But sometimes the hotspot disappears and restarts in a few seconds, the system log says that 'The network driver requested that it be reset'. And after some of these warnings, the network adapter becomes not responding, cannot scan Wi-Fi networks and even I cannot enable or disable it. When I try to enable or disable, Device Manager becomes not responding. I have to restart my laptop to use it again, but the restart process would stuck everytime, so I have to press the power button to shutdown. That's really annoying. I wonder if there are any solutions.

The latest .20.09 driver is total garbage. Disconnects constantly. I revert back to 18.12.0.3 and it is all back to normal. @hggomes thanks for firmware for Asus routers.

@Intel you have a potential with free tester a specially who knows what they are doing. You (Intel) don''t give a dam about customers, because OEM pc manufacturer will still buy your products and update drivers one. Dell, for example recommends to use latest intel driver and you(intel) hide behind "We recommend that you contact your computer manufacturer for further assistance as they are the only ones who can provide customized drivers that are fully compatible with their system." and other statements like it. The only time you had to do something is when AMD kicked you ***.

@Intel use your opportunity with user that are trying to help you to make products better. It would be a win win for everybody.
